MARY J Blige pulled the plug on her trip to Zimbabwe last Friday after promoters failed to pay her on time.
Thousands of the American singer's fans were left disappointed after she failed to arrive as advertised last Friday night.

Organisers of the show, Impeccable Events, admitted that the show had to be cancelled due to financial problems.

“Mary J Blige was supposed to jet into the country on Friday for the gig. However, she could not make it because of some logistical problems,” said Belinda Mutinhiri, a representative of the organizers.

“All the groundwork was done, but we faced a small challenge with the (finance) transfer confirmation. The transfer took long to be cleared and she could not leave America without receiving the full payment.”

Mutinhiri said the show had now been rescheduled for February next year.

Fans of the star expressed disappointment at the development.

The show was said to have been organized in conjunction with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) as part of its Host-A-Celebrity programme.
