Mary J. Blige was spotted in L.A. this weekend where she brought down the house with a performance “Living Proof” her new song from the soundtrack of the movie THE HELP.

As previously reported “The Living Proof,” was written and recorded by Blige especially for THE HELP after she saw a screening of the film based on the book of the same name.

The film opens August 10 and tells the story of three very different women who come together and embark on a secret writing project that breaks societal rules and puts them all at risk.

Speaking on her decision to lend her voice to the soundtrack, Blige released a statement saying,

“The beautiful thing about these women is that they were very smart,” says Blige. “They chose to walk in love and forgiveness.”

This weekend writer and director Tate Taylor introduced Mary J Blige at a special gathering where she performed the lead track from the film.

The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul looked stunning a fitted blue dress that offset her blonde streaked hair.
